Tyler burst out in laughter, in a few seconds he stops. Trying to hold back but he kept laughing. “Are you serious mike?”. 

“Yes I am”, Mike said. 

“Mike I was just playing around”, Tyler said.

 “But….”, Mike responded.

 “But nothing, I just thought about it men, if we go there we will either be arrested by the cops or be killed by the son of those wealthy people as games, or worst into the hands of the mafia”. Tyler said as his eyes were now filled with fear, “and my dad I can’t leave him here”.

 “What do you say Kate?”, Mike asked.

“I don’t think I can Mike” she said.  “We can’t leave our family here”.

 “I know and that is why we will make them come with us and my little brother to. “Come on”, Mike said trying to convince Tyler and Kate.

 “Am sorry but I can’t, am sorry”, Tyler said.

“Not now Mike”, Kate said trying to touch Mike shoulder but he took a step back from her.

“It’s okay, just forget it.” Mike walks out into the rain. 

“Mike! Mike!” Tyler called after his friend but got no response. Kate chased after him from behind. “Mike! Mike !!”, Kate called out to Mike as she ran after him. Mike stopped and turned around to see Kate gasping for air as she could not run anymore. “Go back stop following me. I need a time alone”, he shouted at her. “I and Tyler may not know exactly what you are going through but we promise you we will always be there for you”, Kate said as she tried to catch her breath. “so please Mike running away from us is not the solution”. Mike looked at Kate and walked towards her and asked, “Will you push me away if I do this?”

“Do what?”, she asked. Mike grabbed Kate’s hand and pushed her towards him and kissed her.  Kate pushed Mike away from her. “What was that Mike?”, she asked.

“Can’t I like you?”, Mike asked.

“No Mike”, she said.

“Why?”, Mike asked walking away from her.  “Because of your one sided love for him?”. After saying this he ran of and Kate stood still there in the rain.

The heavy rain stopped and the cloud was bright again with drops of rain dripping down from leaves.  At the great wall, goods produced from the poor side are sent through the gate to the wealthy part of the city, while the trash of the rich are sent to the poor. A hive of cops’ patrol there to earn money from drivers, instead of keeping peace in the poor side of the city.

A truck which carried grains was stopped by one of the cops. They are known to steal goods from drivers who did not accept to pay them- in other to pass through the gates.  

“What do you have in the back?”, he asked the driver.

“Grains sir”.

“And your license to cross the wall?”, the cop looked at the novice driver reaching at the side to get his documents not knowing he was asking for a bribe this irritated him. “Here sir”.

“Is this it, your license is not complete”, the cop shouted at the driver.

“But sir, all my documents are complete”, the driver protested.

“You dare question an officer of the law?”. The cop brought out his pistol and pointed it at the driver.

“Step down from your truck now!!!”. The cop stepped back as the driver came down with his hands up trembling.

“Now turn around”, the driver obeyed and was pushed to the ground and handcuffed. “What have I done sir to deserve this!” The driver asked in tears as he laid on the dirty and muddy ground.

“Shut up, you poor maggot, ask your mom why you were born poor”. The cop said in spite and spat on him.  He beaconed to the cop nearby to take the truck away as he laughed.

“Yes sir”, the cop drove the truck away, two other cops came over and raised the driver from the ground and carried him off. But the driver was shouting, “what have we poor class done to deserve this brutality!”. A cop nearby gave the driver a blow on the stomach with the butt of his riffle.  The driver groaned in pain as he was carried away from sight and shot to death and another truck came.

“What you got there?”, the cop asked the second driver. The driver brought out an envelope with a big amount of money, he opened it and whistled with a devilish smile on his face. “You can go, open the gate!”. The cop shouted putting the money in his big bag, the driver drove into the rich part.

Mike witnessed all that happened from the top of rocky mountain, he left after he was full with the day entertainment he got from there. As he climbed down he saw a group of people in black suit running. “It must be the mafia, he thought. He followed them at a safe distance. He soon noticed that the mafia were not running without a cause, but they were chased by the gangsters. 

“We have to get to wealthy part of the city”, a Mafia cried out to his crew.

 “Kill everyone of them”, one of the gangster said. The gangster brought out a gun from his back and fired at the Mafias. The gunshots alerted the cops who rushed to the area. Mike ran away as fast as he could to avoid the clash, but before he ran he saw they mafia’s run into a cave that he had never seen before.

Mike walked back home, his mind still reasoning what had happened. He saw a crowd that gathered around his house. “What’s happening?”, he asked. He pushed through the crowd and saw his dad on his knees begging a gangster named Kuyuru, while his little brother stood beside his dad holding his spoilt doll, “please don’t kill me I will pay your boss back what I owe, things have been hard.” In fear Mike’s dad begged for mercy.

“Donald my boss, does not like to wait and you know that,” Kuyuru said as he brought out his gun and shot Mike’s dad in cold blood and now faced it to Mike’s little brother. The boy looked as steam came out from the gun facing him. “Take the boy”, Kuyuru instructed.

As one of the gangster’s carried the boy away, Mike ran to get his brother but was shot by Kuyuru. “Anyone who does not pay the boss will face this (he pointed his gun at Mike and his dad) do you understand me !?” They all looked down to avoid eye contact with him, as they feared they will be next. He left whistling swinging his gun around.

Mike laid there as his brother was struggling to free himself, as he was carried away, his doll fell. Everywhere was quiet for Mike as his eyes closed slowly and he blacked out.
